Have you got the skills and and attributes to be a support worker, a social worker or a care home nurse? DYW LIVE are hosting a week focused on careers in social care on the 5th to 9th December Throughout the week, there are live online talks to people in a variety of roles to demystify what social care workers actually do every day, with the chance for you to ask questions about what it’s like to do the jobs. The daily morning programme will see real social care professionals delivering 30 minute webinars on the website with live Q&A. These will be recorded afterwards. In the afternoons a 45-minute sessions via MS Teams will introduce you to social care as the diverse sector it is. You will look at career pathways and the opportunities to become a registered social care professional. Hear about the valuable skills that young people bring to social care and hear from young workers about what it’s like to start their careers with us. And importantly, the sessions will explain the routes into the sector, including entry-level jobs, college courses and apprenticeship opportunities, so that everyone knows where to start. Discover a whole world of rewarding career options supporting people to live their lives the way they want to. RAF are hosting a free virtual event ‘RAF World’ event where pupils can log on to talk to RAF personnel about the particular (50) jobs they do and explore all aspects of what life is like in the RAF. We would ask that you support the promotion of this virtual event to your networks. There is no minimum age requirement to attend the event, however, please be aware there is a minimum age of 15 years and 9 months old to register interest in a role.
