Employer: South of Scotland Enterprise 
Location: Selkirk or Dumfries 
Contract: Full-Time, fixed term for 2 years
Salary: £18,750 per annum
Closing Date: 24/04/21

To undertake a range of business support and administrative processes and tasks within a variety of SOSE departments. The purpose of the apprenticeship is to gain a recognised SVQ qualification in Business Administration at SVQ level 2 or 3.
 
The role will provide the opportunity to receive comprehensive in-house training to develop skills, knowledge and experience to complement the areas of work and tasks you will undertake within the respective department.

We have the opportunity for apprentices to join a variety of business support teams across SOSE including:

  • IT and Digital
  • Human Resources
  • Facilities/Health and Safety
  • Economic Development Infrastructure
  • Strategy

Dimensions of the Job:

  • This role will be officed based at one of our hubs in Selkirk or Dumfries.
  • There will be limited travel involved.
  • This role will support a specific department with administrative duties.

Working Relationships and Key Contacts:

  • Internally supporting the team deliver the service offer
  • Externally with key stakeholders that the department will liaise with to deliver the service
  • Communicate and engage with the training provider to obtain the qualification and have regular meetings with the assessor.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Organising meetings, taking accurate notes and following up on actions or supporting colleagues to follow up on actions
  • Researching and Collating information for events, enquiries, briefings and presentations and managing the team information resources
  • Producing of reports and/or recommendations on specific aspects or topics of work
  • Recording of projects in ICT systems and reporting of pipeline and supporting metrics
  • Support for procurement and budget management, including setting up purchase orders and invoices
  • Setting up client or partner meetings and liaising with clients and partners on specific issues or events
  • Supporting colleagues at events, as appropriate
  • Work closely with area team and other SOSE colleagues and represent SOSE at internal and external meetings as required
  • Embrace a climate of accountability, openness, collaboration and innovation
  • Comply with all aspects of SOSE governance and compliance requirements
