Are you great with words and full of creative ideas? Do you love a bit of tartan and feel passionate about Scotland? We are looking for someone full of enthusiasm to join the team, learn the business inside out and work within the Marketing Team to product quality, engaging content for our website, email campaigns, social media and events. 
Roles & Responsibilities

A successful Digital Marketing Executive / Content Creator will work within the Marketing Team to produce quality, engaging content for our website, email campaigns, social media and events. This role requires a natural ability to write with personality, and a commercial focus. You will help us reach our target audience by delivering both useful and appealing online information about our company, products, Scottish history and Scotland overall. You will also contribute to business development projects and outreach work. As part of this you must have a desire to learn all systems and procedures across the business. Full training will be provided to achieve this.

Marketing Plan:

Work on the team delivering the sales & marketing plan in line with the overall business growth strategy. This annual plan will include clan of the month features, weekly video live broadcasts, seasonal changes, new product launches, printed materials release, events and promotions.

Email Marketing, Website Content, Blog & Social media:

Write and edit website content and social media campaigns by product, season, clan and event theme. Prepare content for email marketing, workflows, upsell etc using Hubspot CRM. Update website content as required through clan page content, style and product guides, how to wear and history articles. Contribute to UX discussions and developments to website content to improve upsell, customer journey and conversion rates.

Marketing & Outreach:

Assist with the development of relationships with Scottish Societies, Clans, Clubs & associated organisations and individuals to create information and engaging content to build our brand story and customer base. Use CRM systems to manage and use customer data for marketing purposes, maintaining mailing lists and developing content for email newsletters and customer flows.

Internal Communications:

Work closely with the different teams in Edinburgh and Duns to communicate information and product updates, events news, and planning updates to the team.

Print & Press:

Assist with the production of all materials including the planning of photoshoots, content requirements for web, printed and promotional materials. Assist with content and mailing lists for bi-annual printed brochure, design and production of interim printed materials, and other content for adverts and promotions. Deal with press requests & enquiries. Write press releases and build relationships with key press.

Internal & External Events:

Work with Events Organisers to assist with content and materials for in store and external events relevant to the overall strategy of the business. Assist with planning and delivery of promotional activity for events.

Reporting:

Contribute to weekly and monthly reports as required including:
Weekly - Sales stats, conversion rates and traffic spikes due to marketing activity
Monthly - Segment growth and overall mailing list growth
Monthly - Social media and marketing interaction

All of the above will require you to:
  • Research industry-related topics
  • Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms
  • Create and distribute marketing copy to advertise our company and products
  • Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
  • Work with our SEO team to include keywords and optimize content
  • Promote content on social networks and monitor engagement (e.g. comments and shares)
  • Identify customers’ needs and recommend new topics
  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to provide text for articles
  • Measure web traffic to content (e.g. conversion and bounce rates)
  • Update our websites as needed

Requirements
  • Excellent team working and communication skills – we operate an open and honest, can do culture and prefer the right attitude to qualifications
  • A passion for Scotland, tartan and textiles
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English
  • Time-management skills

Preferred but not as essential as the right attitude and values
  • Proven work experience in Marketing, Content Creator, Copywriting or similar role
  • Portfolio of published articles
  • BSc in Marketing, English, Journalism or relevant field
  • Familiarity with SEO
  • Proven work experience in Marketing, Content Creator, Copywriting or similar role
