The Philipburn House Hotel in Selkirk is looking for a Sous Chef to join the existing team. The hotel has 20 bedrooms, bar, restaurant, small meeting room and a function suite which can accommodate up to 200 for weddings and events.
You will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of your shift. The ability to lead by example and a hands-on approach is essential. Ideally you will have a some supervisory or management background Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible problem solving approach. Act on behalf of the Head Chef in their absence High standard of food hygiene and a strong awareness of health and safety in the kitchen. Day to day duties include all aspects of food preparation, temperature checks, cleaning, stock rotation and preparing, cooking and plating guest meals. Shift times vary to meet the needs of the business. Salary commensurate with experience.
